My Passion for Healthcare
I initially received my Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from UT Austin in 2006, and I worked for a year in a chemistry lab at UT Austin. I desired more patient interactions with scientific applications, so I transitioned into the healthcare field by starting the Alternate Entry Masters of Science in Nursing program at UT Austin. I soon found that I wanted to diagnose and treat patients, so I decided to pursue a nurse practitioner certification in the pediatric field.
My Clinical Focus
I am passionate about providing care to pediatric acute surgical and trauma patients. I first worked as a pediatric nurse practitioner in a pediatric primary care clinic for three years, and I soon found that I missed the higher acuity pediatric patients. I then decided to return to Dell Children’s Medical Center in 2016 to work with Austin Pediatric Surgery.
